Mary L. Johnson
A lifelong movie buff, Ms. Johnson started out writing movie reviews in college for the USF newspaper, The Oracle. After graduating in Creative Writing at the University of South Florida, she worked for a time in Germany at Kelly Air Force base outside of Stuttgart. Ms. Johnson also worked in Public Relations at WEDU, the local Public Broadcasting Station in Tampa, and as the Stagebill Editor at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. She worked for several non-profit organizations and wrote newsletters before opening Brown Bag Organics, a small business that focused on organic products and healthy eating.
After working as a freelance writer and as an educator with the Child Abuse Council, Ms. Johnson published the e-book, The Goals Book for Christian Living. For the last eight years she has written a blog on film, 6 Degrees of Film. Ms. Johnson has written 6 Degrees of Film, the companion book for the 6 Degrees of Film blog. She also writes a quarterly newsletter on film and publishes the popular Flipboard magazine, 6 Degrees of Film @ the Movies.
