For my dear Friends and fellow Film Buffs who follow 6 Degrees:
I’ve missed you these past few years! You may ask where I have been…and the answer is I am still here! Still writing about film and loving to watch (good) films, but unfortunately not seeing as many films to review and like as I did say, 10 years ago. Ten years ago I published 6 Degrees of Film and since then, we have expanded the brand into an online magazine and E-Books as well as the newsletter. I have plans in the next few months to complete a ten-year addendum and to put it out and make it available to all…
But for now, I have been busy on the 6 Degrees Writer site and I’m excited to put out the Summer Film News for 2024! It’s available here, on the older site, but I’ve been missing all the followers who did originally get their 6 Degrees Film News here and are still hopefully, out there. Each week, we put out a short social media post that encompasses most of the best film sites on the web. Roger Ebert’s site is one essential website, and Film Comment is another top site. But there are many more, and we go through all of the most interesting articles, so you don’t have to! The links are there and we provide the synopsis each Friday in “Friday Flix.’ One of the magazines focuses more on current film news and topical events. Friday Flix has more in-depth pieces as well as articles on classic films and the Golden Age of Film. So we can ‘mix & match’ & provide you the best of both worlds:)
I am going to put the links here for you bi-weekly….along with the list of Questions & Answers posed on our Facebook site….And since there was a major glitch earlier this year on the 6 Degrees Blog site, I’ve been slowly taking the older posts and re-tooling them to re-post throughout the year…They will also appear here along with the newsletters and the links to all the best of our current work.
I look forward to connecting with everyone here, and hoping you will visit us on Facebook too! There are links to the Turner Classic Films each month that are playing. And if you miss the original viewing, you can usually stream the TCM films throughout the month through your Cable Provider. (Things have changed much from the ‘old days’ when we wrote about movies!)….
